What if I have been declined for Life Assurance?
Being declined for Life Assurance is not necessarily the end of the line!
Life providers can vary massively on how they might assess you and your individual circumstances, where one provider might not cover you because you have a certain illness or condition or partake in a certain hazardous pursuit another might.
That’s why the cheapest quote is not always the best quote for you, until you have been underwritten there is no guarantee the provider will honour the originally quoted premium.
There are several key areas where the life providers assess you:
- Occupation
- Health (Height & Weight, Illnesses, Alcohol consumption etc). Healthly lifestyle calculator
- History of Hereditary Illness within your immediate family
- Hazardous Pursuits (Mountain Biking, Diving, Rock Climbing etc)
There are certain actions a life provider can take once they have underwritten your case:
- Decline you
- Load your premium
- Exclude a certain element of the cover or exclude covering you in certain circumstances
